How we check documents, distinguish findings from opinions and describe disputed legal interpretations.
How to read the content
- Fact: an event confirmed by a document or identified report, such as an election date or the publication of a statement.
- Judicial finding: what a specified court determined in a particular case on an identified legal basis. Its effects are not automatically extended to all other cases.
- Position: a view expressed by a politician, public body, organisation or author. An official website confirms that the view was expressed; it does not prove its truth.
- Analysis: a clearly identified conclusion from comparing sources, or a question about risk. It is not presented as an established fact.
How sources are selected
We prefer legislation, operative provisions and reasons for judgments, parliamentary papers and original statements. Where we use press reporting, we identify the publisher. The same agency dispatch republished by two websites is not two independent accounts.
We check the event date, publication date, author and scope of the claim. For disputed issues we show the legal basis and the parties’ arguments. We do not assume every interpretation has identical legal force, or that all judges are politically dependent.
Updates
Last review: The latest statements described date from 31 October. The website is not updated automatically and is not a complete register of all proceedings. A historical interim measure or declaration does not establish today’s legal position.
Access limitations are identified where we had to rely on a report of a source. Any future correction should identify its date, the passage changed and its basis. The material is informational and does not replace assessment of an individual case.
English edition
This is an English translation of the Polish edition. Translated quotations and legal explanations are not official translations. Source links are preserved; cited document titles and publisher names remain as in the Polish edition so readers can identify the originals.
